| Jeddah - Hossam Al-Sheikh Sulaiman, from Al Khobar in the Eastern Province won the "Be Surprised" contest organized by Samaco, exclusive dealer Volkswagen cars in Saudi Arabia.
The prize is free use of the all-new Volkswagen Jetta 2011 car for a full year, complete with free regular maintenance carried out by Samaco. An overjoyed Sulaiman said he was looking forward to driving the high-powered and extensively equipped car.
Samaco’s innovative contest created quite a stir on the big-city streets of Saudi Arabia as the new Jetta 2011 cars were driven around with their identity mysteriously concealed but with a banner inviting the public to "take a picture and upload it to http://www.besurprised.com with the name of the car."
Philip Burrluck, Manager of the Volkswagen brand at Samaco, said response to the contest was overwhelming.”
"The number of participants as well as the number of people who guessed its name correctly was a surprise to us,” Burrluck said. “It showed that that a lot of buzz was generated about the totally new Jetta 2011 and that the youth were up-to-date about its high performance, sophisticated features and affordable price. Accordingly, we expect high demand for the car and great sales.”
