The Passat CC.

The ACC with environment observation system “Front Assist” automatically maintains a predefined distance to the vehicle ahead of you and also warns the driver of hazardous situations with optical and audible signals. If the minimum distance is exceeded, the driver assistance system applies the brakes, and in extreme cases brings the vehicle to a standstill.

The Passat CC features two driver assistance systems to facilitate parking. The ParkPilot works with ultrasound sensors on the bumpers and gives warning sounds to signal the distance between the car and surrounding objects. In difficult parking situations, the “Park Assist” parking steering assistant makes manoeuvres more straightforward. As soon as it is activated, the system takes over the necessary steering movements and parks the vehicle automatically – the driver just has to apply the accelerator, clutch and brakes.

The Passat CC also features the optional innovative “Lane Assist” driving aid. If a monotonous journey on the motorway leads to a lack of concentration, the system supports the driver by correcting the steering of the vehicle to keep it within its lane. And that in both foggy and night-time conditions too.

The “Rear Assist” rear-view camera is concealed in the pivoting Volkswagen badge on the rear; it extends automatically when needed and displays the area behind the vehicle on the radio or navigation screen, using a wide-angle lens. Additionally superimposed lines indicate the ideal steering angle for parking, while the driver can quite simply look ahead. This function is supplemented by the “Optical Parking System”.

The “RNS 510” radio navigation system offers convenient route guidance. With its generously sized 30 GB hard disk for saving navigation data or for your own music collection in MP3 or WMA format, it shows you the way to your destination via the touchscreen, both audibly and visually on the multi-colour, high-resolution TFT display. And until you reach your destination, your passengers can watch DVDs in crystal clear picture quality or listen to CDs in wonderful sound quality.

The “Premium” mobile telephone preparation guarantees wireless integration of your phone into the vehicle via Bluetooth. After connecting the mobile phone with the preparation once, the phone can remain in your jacket pocket and is automatically recognised whenever you enter the vehicle. No separate SIM card is necessary as all the data, like telephone numbers, are transferred from the SIM card of your mobile phone to the car’s mobile phone preparation. An optional mobile phone bay is also available, allowing you to charge your mobile in the car.

Entertainment that will take your breath away – the MEDIA-IN multimedia interface in the Passat CC provides you with a direct connection to USB sticks and MP3 players. You can then control and view the connected devices using the radio or radio navigation system. Now you can accompany every drive with your very own soundtrack.
