Well thought out to the finest detail: enjoy a feeling of safety.
Sometimes you can benefit from an experience without actually undergoing it. Take the new Eos, for example: it offers a comprehensive active and passive safety concept. | 265 millimetres of protectionSafety and a high level of occupant protection are top priorities in the Eos. It therefore comes with an active rollover protection system that is operational whether the hood is up or down. If need be, its supporting sections automatically shoot upwards by up to 265 millimetres in the space of 0.25 seconds to provide protection for all occupants. |
Seven in oneThe electronic stabilisation programme with countersteering support including ABS with brake assist, ASR (traction control, EDL (electronic differential lock), MSR (engine drag torque control) and trailer stabilisation prevents the vehicle from swerving in critical situations. But it is still important to drive carefully: the electronic stabilisation programme cannot overcome the laws of physics.
| Double protection"In addition to the familiar front airbags, passengers in the front also benefit from a combined head and side airbag system in the Eos. It is located in the side sections of the front seats and offers the driver and front passenger optimum protection. If required, the front airbag for the front passenger can be easily deactivated by hand. In critical situations, the airbags are deployed within a few milliseconds and inflated by a gas generator." |
A supportive conceptWe hope that they will never need it of course, but occupants in the new Eos can rely on the head restraint system if an accident should occur. Specially developed by Volkswagen, this concept helps to effectively minimise head and whiplash injuries.
| Two clicks for secure installationThe little ones too are well protected in the new Eos. It features ISOFIX anchorage points*, which work according to a simple principle: the child seat is locked into the correct position with a click by means of two mounting brackets, which connect it with the vehicle body. Two child seats can be attached as standard to the rear bench seat. ISOFIX mountings are available as an option for the front passenger seat. |
