The CSC roof System.

The CSC is operated with a two-piece control, handily positioned on the centre console between the front seats. The driver pushes or pulls the inner switch to open or close the sliding/tilting glass sunroof. The larger outer lever in a sophisticated aluminium-look finish lowers or raises the CSC roof. Its developers focused on creating an intuitive and transparent operating logic for greater safety and comfort.

For instance, the CSC can only be lowered when the car is stationary and the luggage protector is in place and correctly engaged. If an error occurs during roof operation, the symbol flashes and the multifunction display shows a message with information for the driver (e.g. “Close boot lid" or “Close luggage compartment cover”).

Due to the convertible roof’s design, the roof compartment cover lifts to a maximum height of 32 centimetres above the rear bumper during operation. The optional boot lid assist function for the Eos enhances user-friendliness and reduces the risk of damage. Using the ParkPilot’s ultrasound sensors (optional), it detects any obstructions in the boot lid’s path.

If an obstacle is found, the movement of the roof is automatically stopped and a text is displayed on the multifunction display to inform the driver. The driver can restart the lowering or raising process by operating the roof switch again. Before doing so, however, the driver must make absolutely sure there is no obstruction in the way, because the switch functions as an “override”. The responsibility thus remains with the driver.
